St Louis Jobs in the Top Employing Occupations
Anyone looking for St Louis jobs might want to check out Missouri's list of the top 30 employing occupations.
According to the Missouri Department of Economic Development, these occupations account for more than 1 million of the state's workers, or 38.6 percent of total employment.
Excluding primary and secondary teachers, these top occupations have an average hourly wage of $14.43, compared to $17.15 for all jobs throughout the state, and an average yearly wage of $30,141, compared to $35,670 for all jobs throughout the state.
Missouri Healthcare Jobs in the Making Get Funding
A new program is helping prepare students for future Missouri healthcare jobs.
The Caring for Missourians Initiative is providing training at four-year institutions throughout the state for 471 future medical professionals and hundreds more are receiving training at two-year institutions.
"The global economic crisis has left far too many folks out of work, but there will always be high demand for trained, qualified health care professionals," Gov. Jay Nixon said. "In fact, our hospitals and clinics are scrambling to hire additional doctors, nurses, dentists and other practitioners every day.
